4 The route
8km run/walk
The 8km route starts in the game park. This section is flat. The route then heads up the koppie.
There is a uphill section that is not on any road but routes is marked with bunting and tape.
Gravel may be lose. Then its rolling hills to the finish, with lovely views of the farm.
16km Enduro
The 16km also starts in the game park. Its flat and continues further into the game park then the 8km Lite.
Then it heads up the mountain, to the tip most top. The first section of the climb is "new path".
So off road/no road. It will be marked with bunting and tape. Then the climb continues on jeep track.
It’s a big climb, ending at a small plateau appropriately named God's Window.
If you are not chasing a podium position take some deep breaths admire the view and enjoy the OCNAM water table.
There is the added advantage that the rest of the route is mainly flat or downhill.
Another thing - if you have gators (the things that cover the top of your shoes and socks to prevent stick grass getting
inside your shoes), they are recommended.

HYDRATION/WATER TABLES
ENDURO/LITE
In trail runs/walks the participants are responsible for their own hydration. This means you need to bring your own liquid along.
We are aware that many people in Namibia may be new to trail running. Consequently there will be emergency water tables.
There will be x 2 water tables on the 15km Enduro event and x 1 water table on the LITE.
These water tables are approximately every 5km so bring your own additional water.
5 Enjoying your day/weekend at Midgard
Besides the Xtrail and MTB event people can enjoy the other activities the Midgard Resort offers - volleyball,
kegelbahn (Skittle Alley), mountain climbing routes (bring your own equipment)
and nice walks up the mountains behind the lodge.
Midgard will serve drinks and food on Sunday.

Some of the risks are mentioned below. This is not a definitive list of all risk.
The route is a combination of jeep track, cattle path and no paths. There is loose gravel and stones and the surface is uneven.

For off road running it is recommended that you make use of trail running shoes, which provide greater support and traction.
Should you be injured please request your fellow runners/walkers to notify the next marshal on route so that arrangements
can be made to get assistance to you.
Other dangers in a trail route include wild animals and snakes.
There is basic medical bag for minor injuries available at the administration tent but there is no medical vehicle on stand-bye
